How do I create a new catalog pointing to a watch folder on another server share

#1

I am running Portfolio 2.5.3 on a Windows 2012 Server. the majority of the catalogs i have setup are stored locally on the Portfolio server, so I have setup a default location for the catalogs (in global settings.) which is e:\portfolio\catalogs.

I want to create another catalog/Netpublish site that is pointing to a watch folder on a share on another server. Is this possible? If so, how do I do this? I can’t seem to find the setting for the location of the watched folder when I create the new catalog.

Hello simonh,

Portfolio does support networked share locations. Typically expressed as \Servername\Sharename. If unsure of the actual server or share names I would contact your IT and verify the location information. Additionally the user running services in portfolio will need to have read/write permissions on the destination folder to be able to ingest the content and write metadata back to those files.

Once added as a watch folder it can be published to Netpublish as normal.

Thank you,
