Extensis 11 Client Not Installing on Windows 7

#1

Hi,

I have one Windows 7 user in my Communications department for whom I can’t install the Extensis 11 client.

I haven’t seen this with any of my other Win 7 users.

It does the install, looks like it’s about to finish, and then it just goes into “rolling it back” mode. The installer just says “Rolling the install back” and that’s that.

Anyone else seen this? Am I missing something in the OS, like some update or something?

Thanks!

You could turn on installer logging as described in this Microsoft KB article:

support.microsoft.com/kb/314852

then run the installer again. You should end up with a log file named MSI.log in your Windows Temp directory. Feel free to paste the contents of the log into your response and we’ll see if we can diagnose the cause of the installation failure.

Hi,
I should have checked the Systems Requirements first. The computer is running Windows 7, but not SP1. Extensis’ web site clearly says that Windows 7 SP1 is required. I will update the OS and see how it goes. Sorry for the oversight.
Best wishes,
John
